Thiagarajar Journal of Engineering, Science, Design and Technology (TJESDT)

Editorial Policies

The Editorial Policies of the TJESDT are designed to ensure the integrity, transparency, and quality of the publication process. These policies guide authors, reviewers, and editors in maintaining the highest standards of academic and ethical conduct. The following is a proposed set of editorial policies:

1. Editorial Independence and Objectivity

The editorial team is committed to maintaining the independence and autonomy of the journal's academic content. All editorial decisions are based on the quality, originality, and relevance of the submission, without influence from external parties. Editors and reviewers will make decisions based solely on the merits of the manuscript, following the journal’s focus and scope. Discriminatory practices based on nationality, gender, religion, or other personal characteristics are strictly prohibited.

2. Peer Review Process

Peer Review Type: The journal uses a double-blind peer review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other to maintain objectivity and prevent bias.

Reviewers' Responsibilities: Reviewers are expected to evaluate the manuscript for originality, significance, novelty, methodological rigor, results, and more.

Timeliness: Reviewers must complete their assessments within a specified time frame (usually 5-6 weeks).

Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from reviewing when necessary.

3. Authorship and Contribution

Authorship Criteria: Only those who have significantly contributed to the research should be listed as authors.

Acknowledgement of Contributors: Non-authors who made significant contributions should be acknowledged in the manuscript’s acknowledgment section.

Changes in Authorship: Any changes in authorship after submission must be approved by all authors.

4. Ethical Guidelines

Plagiarism: The journal has a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. All manuscripts will be checked using reliable software.

Data Fabrication: Any form of data fabrication or falsification is strictly prohibited.

Duplicate Submission: Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.

Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

5. Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts must adhere to the journal’s formatting and submission guidelines, with specific instructions on structure, reference style, and supplementary materials.

6. Revision and Resubmission

Authors must respond to reviewers’ comments and submit revised manuscripts with detailed responses. Disagreements should be addressed with clear explanations.

7. Publication Ethics

The journal commits to transparency in all stages of the publishing process. If an article contains significant errors after publication, corrections or retractions will be issued as necessary.

8. Copyright

Authors must agree to transfer the copyright of their work to TJESDT or grant a license for open-access distribution under a Creative Commons license.

9. Editorial Board Responsibilities

The editorial board oversees the journal’s policies and ensures the integrity of the peer review process, maintaining confidentiality and fairness.

10. Complaints and Appeals

Any concerns or complaints related to the editorial process should be directed to the Editor-in-Chief, who will handle them promptly and fairly.
